One of the best ways to immerse yourself in a culture is through the local language. Accademia Italiana gives mature learners the opportunity to experience Italian language and culture through interactive group courses at its campuses in Salerno, Naples and Rome. Meet other adult students from around the world, learn to cook an authentic Italian dish and keep your mind active while learning another language. The 50PLUS program is available at the new Rome school from January 4, 2027, with the same dates and prices 2027 across all three schools. Make your trip memorabile!

Culture and Leisure Activities

Over a period of 2 weeks adult students  have 40 group language lessons and participate in the following activities:

  • 1 city tour
  • 1 full-day excursion
  • 1 half-day excursion
  • 1 practical class in cooking
  • 1 practical class in pottery
  • 1 special visit to regional products factory (e.g. mozzarella, olive oil, wine, or limoncello) followed by a tasting
The course is offered every month and special dates can be arranged for groups upon request.

Why Salerno?

Salerno is a small and authentic city, perfect for studying Italian because of its charming, calm atmosphere and its affordable cost of living. It’s also a hubspot from which you can explore the rest of Italy.
  • Ideal position by seaside in the South of Italy in a beautiful and famous touristic area: Amalfi Coast, Sorrento Peninsula, Pompeii, Capri, Ischia, etc.
  • Easy ferry access to the Amalfi coast
  • A short train ride to Pompeii
  • Less than 3 hours to Rome and less than 5 hours to Florence by train

A stay in Salerno will give you time to visit the Duomo (Cathedral), which some call the most beautiful church in Italy, take in the Museo Archeologico Provinciale (the Archaeological Museum), and relax in the Villa Comunale (a landscaped garden park) in the centrostorico (historic centre), among many other sites. Naples ( Napoli) is an authentic Italian city rich in art, culture and food with breath-taking monuments, UNESCO heritage historical centre, cathedrals, churches and museums! The Royal Palace, San Carlo theatre, the archaeological museum, the underground city are only some of the monuments you can enjoy during your stay in Naples while having the best pizza and espresso ever!
  • Ideal position by seaside in the South of Italy in a beautiful and famous touristic area: Amalfi Coast, Sorrento Peninsula, Pompeii, Capri, Ischia, etc.
  • Easy ways to get to the city by low cost and standard flights, thanks to the international airport of Naples Capodichino connected with the main cities in the world.

Why Rome?

Rome brings together history, culture and contemporary city life. Accademia Italiana’s new Rome campus is located in the historic Palazzo Guglielmi Chiablese in Piazza dell’Enciclopedia Italiana, a short walk from the Pantheon and Colosseum . The 50PLUS program is  available in Rome from January 4, 2027.

Rome
I thought the course was well organized and allowed plenty of opportunity to speak the language and learn the history of Salerno and the surrounding cities. It was a good experience, I wouldn't change a thing, except the weather. Everyone was great. No improvements necessary, great job. All the teachers and staff were very nice and helpful. Nice job. My host mother was kind, she spoke and fed me. Also, she seemed genuinely concerned with my well-being. Overall, it was a great experience. It was a wonderful experience. In the future, I would like to stay longer and arrive in the summer.
